open arms

Open   Arms
By
Wendy L. Nichols

The day you were born
You touched my soul
You were the missing link
That made my life whole

Those beautiful eyesStare at me in awe
Gazing at the woman
Who just became your mom

 As days turned to months

And months turned to years
I watched you grow
Facing life’s challenges and fighting your fears

 Now that your grown
You take the next step
Those years gone by
In my heart they’re kept

If you got lost along your way
Not sure what to do or what to say
Know that I’m present in spirit and soul
With open arms and a hand for you always to hold.

the impossible dream

This is one of my favorites (song/poem) by one of my favorite singing groups singing the song!  Just to share…enjoy! Stay tuned – working on my next write -up on Dreams

The Impossible Dream

(The Quest)
From Man of LaMancha
(Don Quixote de la Mancha)

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go.

To right the unrightable wrong
To be better far than you are
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest, to follow that star,
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To be willing to give when there’s no more to give
To be willing to die so that honor and justice may live

And I know if I’ll only be true to this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I’m laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
